Join us on May 19 in the Parish Hall as we discuss The Personal Librarian (Marie Benedict and Victoria Christopher Murray). This is the story of Bella da Costa Greene, J.P. Morgan’s librarian, who hid her identity as a Black American woman in the early 20th century. Becoming an integral part of New York Society, she built up a world-class library and kept her secret. Our meeting starts promptly at 7:00 pm, but all are welcome to arrive at 6:45 for a quick chat before we begin our discussion. Come armed with questions and comments. Need to know more? Contact Joan Wolff at [email protected]. Until then, happy reading!
