Invitation to Join the Saint Alphonsus Junior Choir

Choral singing has once again resumed at Saint Alphonsus and our adult choral groups are providing added diversity and inspiration to our liturgies!  As always, we would be happy to expand with more members and encourage and welcome any new singers of high school age and up to join us.  Rehearsals are Thursday evening at 7:30 PM.  Interested parties – please get in touch with me via the contact info below.

There is one aspect of ensemble singing that is still missing from our music ministry – choral singing by the children of our parish! Therefore, we are establishing a Saint Alphonsus “Junior Choir” for children in grades 4 and up which will participate regularly in our music liturgies throughout the year.  For the immediate future, however, this Junior Choir will begin by preparing to sing at the following two upcoming Christmas liturgies:

- 4:00 PM mass on Christmas Eve, December 24
- Noon Mass on Holy Family Sunday, December 26

Three rehearsals will be held at church from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM on the Sundays of December 5, 12, and 19. Attendance at all rehearsals is preferred (and much needed) but a minimum of 2 out of 3 is required.  Likewise, participation at both liturgies is preferred but not mandatory. All children will wear masks throughout (including while singing).  The choristers will assemble on the music platform upfront with piano accompaniment.

• Nature of child’s prior singing experience if any
