While every Mass is offered for the good of the whole Church, the custom of having Mass offered for a specific intention is an ancient one.  Whether praying for the dead, in thanksgiving for an anniversary, or for a living family member or friend, having a Mass said for an intention is a special way to apply the graces of the Sacrifice of the Mass for a specific purpose.  Mass intentions can be requested at the parish office to be celebrated in various ways.  In each case, a Mass card is provided for your use. See below for the types of intentions we offer:

• Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary – Intentions may be enrolled in the Masses and prayers of the Seminary community for various durations – 10 years, 25 years, or perpetual enrollment. 

• Pontifical Mission Societies – these Mass intentions are sent to the Archdiocesan Office for the Pontifical Mission Societies so that these intentions can be celebrated by a priest working in mission territories and so support their missionary activities.

• Aid to the Church in Need – Masses are available to be said individually, or as a Triduum (3 Masses), a Novena (9 Masses), or a Gregorian Series of 30 consecutive Masses.  These intentions support priests and Catholic communities in impoverished areas.
